Cobb EMC Annual Meeting 2024

Cobb EMC members were invited to attend our 86th Annual Meeting on September 14 to learn about our progress, ways to save on their electric bill, and to vote for director candidates. There were 2,765 registered members and more than 5,000 guests in attendance at the meeting. View voting results below.

  • June: Member-sponsored bylaw amendments must be submitted (Sec. 10.01).
  • August: Written notice must be received from any member who desires to exceed the 5-minute speaking limitation for Annual Meeting (Sec. 2.12).

There are other deadlines and requirements applicable to the Annual Meeting that are contained in the bylaws. Members are encouraged to review Cobb EMC bylaws and to contact Kris Delaney if they have any questions about the Annual Meeting or any deadline requirement related to the Annual Meeting.

Nine directors represent Cobb EMC members in Cobb, Bartow, Cherokee, Fulton, and Paulding counties. Directors meet monthly and serve three-year terms with three elected each year at Annual Meeting. In accordance with Cobb EMC’s bylaws, candidates may petition for election to the board. For details, read about our board elections process.

2024 Director Election

SECTION 3.08. Notice of Nominees. The Secretary shall be responsible for posting at the Cooperative’s headquarters and on its website the nominees for the election, and if received on or before the fourth Friday in May, shall include same in the notice to the Members for the meeting at which the election is to be held. We make director election results available here following the Annual Meeting.

Voting for director elections take place via mail, email, within your account or at the Annual Meeting in September. View the election packet here. Election packets will be mailed and emailed in August. Members have four options for voting in director elections: 

In-person at the meeting.

All members must provide photo identification at registration. Commercial, government and church groups must provide authorization to represent their organizations at registration.

Online ballot

Online at https://vote.escvote.com/cemc. Beginning August 9, look for an email from cemchelp@electionservicescorp.com. This email will contain your personal Election Validation Number. Please check your spam folder. Votes cast by mail-in ballot or electronically must be received by 5 p.m. on September 11, 2024.

Within your Cobb EMC account

New this year: A “Vote Now” button will be available within your Cobb EMC online account or through the Cobb EMC app from 9 a.m. August 9 through 5 p.m. September 11. This new button will allow you to navigate directly to the electronic ballot within Election Services’ system without having to log in a second time. Votes cast by mail-in ballot or electronically must be received by 5 p.m. on September 11, 2024.

By mail-in ballot

Election Services Corporation, the third-party service coordinating the election, mailed packets containing candidate biographies and ballots on August 9. Votes cast by mail-in ballot or electronically must be received by 5 p.m. on September 11, 2024. Please note: Paper ballots are not accepted at Cobb EMC headquarters.

All voting is handled by a third-party company, Election Services Corporation, which is separate from Cobb EMC. Please note: Only members who were connected by July 12, 2024, may vote in the 2023 director elections.
