Annual Meeting FAQs
Will I count as a registered member regardless of the event format I choose?
Yes. You will be registered if you attend our drive-thru or if you view online virtually. In order to ensure registration, all members attending the drive-thru are asked to print and complete the Annual Meeting registration form. Members who attend virtually will register by completing the Zoom sign up form. Ensure all information entered into the Zoom sign up form is complete and accurate.
Am I eligible to attend the Annual Meeting?
If you receive electric service from Cobb EMC, you are a member and are eligible to attend the meeting. For the drive-thru event, bring a photo ID to verify that you live at the address listed on your Cobb EMC bill.
Commercial, government and church groups must provide authorization to represent their organizations at registration. Representatives will need to present a photo ID and work ID/business card.
Cobb EMC isn't my power company. Can I still attend?
No. You must be a Cobb EMC member to attend.
I recently moved to a home served by Cobb EMC. My electricity bill is in my name, but I haven't updated my ID with my new address yet. Can I still attend the Annual Meeting?
Please note: Only members who were connected by July 16, 2021 may vote at the Annual Meeting.
If the bill is in my spouse's name, do they need to come so I can register?
Any adult (18 years and older) living in the household can register. For the drive-thru event, bring a photo ID to verify that the adult lives in a home served by Cobb EMC.
Do I need to do anything before coming to the drive-thru?
Yes, a printed registration form is required. Print and complete the Annual Meeting registration form and bring it with you to help the drive-thru move faster.
If I attend the Annual Meeting drive thru, will I still be able to address the staff and board as well as ask questions?
The drive-thru event does not include a Q&A session. However, members are invited to join us virtually for the business meeting and a live Q&A.
Is it okay to bring children?
Yes! Children and families are welcome. Please note that we ask all members to stay in their vehicles at all times.
Where will I need to go once I get to Jim R. Miller Park?
Our traffic attendants will direct you to the drive-thru line. There will be no parking available.
What do I need to bring?
All members attending the drive-thru should print, complete and bring the Annual Meeting registration form to enter, and a valid photo ID.
What is a good time to come if I don't want to wait in line?
It’s hard to predict wait times. We will have several employees working to get you through the drive-thru as quickly as possible. The drive-thru is open from 8–10:30 a.m. Please allow time for traffic.
Help us speed up the drive-thru line! Print and complete the Annual Meeting registration form and bring it with you to keep the drive-thru line moving.
Will there be food and drinks?
No. We will not be serving food or drinks this year.
Will there be event security?
Yes. The safety and security of all attendees is our top priority.
Will the drive-thru still take place if it's raining?
Yes. Our Annual Meeting drive-thru will take place rain or shine. Unless storms pose a danger, we will be ready to enjoy the day with our members.
I'm not comfortable attending the Annual Meeting drive-thru in person. Is there a live stream option?
Yes. We will be live streaming our Annual Meeting through Zoom. You can watch through the Zoom link available on our Annual Meeting page.
Do I need to sign up to attend virtually?
Yes, online sign up is required. You can sign up for the Zoom meeting from our Annual Meeting page. We recommend that you confirm receipt of your Zoom link ahead of the meeting for the best viewing experience on September 18. Please verify that all information entered in the Zoom sign up form is accurate. We will use this information to register you for purposes of the meeting record.
If I attend the Annual Meeting through the live stream, am I still considered a registered member?
Yes. By viewing online, you are still counted as a registered member for purposes of the meeting record. Be sure to enter your information accurately so we can verify your member status. Members who view the live stream can pick up fair tickets from Cobb EMC following the meeting: September 20-22, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If I attend the Annual Meeting through the live stream, will I still receive fair tickets and be eligible for the raffle drawings?
Yes. All registered members are eligible to receive fair tickets and prizes. Fair tickets will only be issued one time per member, even if you attend both the drive-thru and virtual events.
If I attend the Annual Meeting through the live stream, will I still be able to address the staff and board as well as ask questions?
Yes. The virtual Annual Meeting includes a live Q&A.
How long does the meeting last?
The virtual Annual Meeting begins at 11 a.m. and should end around 12 p.m., depending on how many questions are asked during the live Q&A.
I may not be able to stay online for the entire meeting. Can I still get tickets?
We encourage all members to stay for the entirety of the virtual Annual Meeting to learn more about our progress, hear from your board of directors and new CEO, and win prizes. We do understand that there may be other commitments. Members who sign up and attend the virtual Annual Meeting for any length of time are eligible to receive fair tickets. Members must stay until the end of the virtual Annual Meeting to win prizes.
I can’t attend the virtual or drive-thru Annual Meeting. Can I still get free fair tickets after the event?
No. You must be present and register either at the virtual or drive-thru Annual Meeting to receive fair tickets. Tickets will not be distributed after the meeting to anyone who did not register on or before September 18. If you attend the meeting virtually on September 18, tickets can be picked up at Cobb EMC September 20-22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Can you pick up additional fair tickets for a friend or family member?
No. Fair tickets will only be issued one time per member. Each registered member receives up to four free fair tickets – that’s up to four tickets per household. Members with multiple accounts are not eligible to receive fair tickets for each account/household.
Tickets must be picked up in person by an adult at least 18 years old who is living at the service address listed on your Cobb EMC bill. Please have a valid photo ID ready.
Can I get additional fair tickets if I attend the drive-thru and the virtual Annual Meeting?
No. Fair tickets will only be issued one time per member.
When are door prizes awarded?
Door prizes will be raffled the week after the Annual Meeting once the registration process is complete. Winners will by contacted by email with instructions for prize pick up.
How old do you need to be to win door prizes?
Members must be 18 years old and living at an address served by Cobb EMC to register to attend the Annual Meeting and to win prizes.
Can I increase my chances of winning prizes?
Yes! Members who attend both the drive-thru and virtual Annual Meeting can double their chances to win prizes.
