Cobb EMC recently awarded more than $41,000 in mini-grants to 87 elementary, middle, and high school teachers across the electric cooperative’s five-county service area. These mini-grants will fund a variety of experiential and active learning projects including career prep, STEM, community gardens, art, music expansions, and more.
A new holiday tradition was born this past December by fueling a little friendly competition. “Lights of Joy” in Kennesaw was the winner of Cobb EMC’s Holiday Light Tour and was awarded $1,000 to be given to a non-profit of their choice. Six homes, all serviced by Cobb EMC, competed in the Holiday Light Tour and were voted on by the public throughout December on the electric cooperative's Facebook page.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Cobb EMC’s annual Pink Power Flock the Yard (#PinkPowerFlock) campaign is celebrating the thousands of brave, resilient women who are impacted by breast cancer every year with a small army of flamingos. Why flamingos? Because they are pink, just like the symbolic pink ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness.
