A planned outage may occur when a Cobb EMC member requests to turn their power off for repairs in their home. Additionally, planned outages may occur when there is a need to conduct repairs or routine maintenance on our infrastructure. These kinds of outages occur from time to time and will also be reflected on the outage map as planned outages.

Planned Maintenance

Planned Maintenance

Crews may schedule temporary power outages in a specific area within our system to make needed repairs to equipment. An example of planned maintenance would be changing out a pole, or transformer. Crews will do their best to let members know their service will be interrupted.

Emergency repairs

Emergency Repairs

When crews encounter hazards on the field that may threaten the safety of crew personnel or members, an outage is created for immediate repairs. In these types of situations, safety is a top priority. The members affected by these types of outages may receive outage notifications as well as efforts from the crews to inform them of the power outage prior to beginning their work.

Scheduled disconnect

Scheduled Disconnect

Members may request to schedule temporary disconnects when repairs need to be done to their home or business. Examples include upgrading electrical equipment in the home and increasing amperage to their home.
