Through the efforts of Cobb Diaper Day, Cobb EMC is reaching out to the community to help meet their goal of more than 100,000 diapers to assist low-income families in Cobb County. The 14th Annual Cobb Diaper Day is being held virtually in September and October and more than one million diapers have been donated over the life of the program.
“We live in a very generous community, and I am proud to work at such a generous company that has supported Diaper Day and my commitment to this project for the last 14 years,” says Nurdan Cornelius, Director of Consumer Marketing at Cobb EMC. Cornelius along with Cheryl Musial of MopDog Creative and Jennifer Lynch of Bell Weddings and Events has been working on the project with Barbara Hickey since 2008. It is because of her commitment to community service and involvement in Diaper Day that Cobb EMC serves as a drop-off location for the collection of diapers from the community on October 12th and 26th.
Organizations, companies, and individuals are encouraged to participate in a variety of ways:
- Donate at www.cobbdiaperday.com.
- Purchase diapers on Amazon through the Cobb Diaper Day Wish List.
- Declare a day to collect diapers from fellow employees, organizations, neighbors, and friends.
- Drop off donations at one of our community collection days at the Cobb EMC Solar Flower Garden in Marietta, GA on October 12th from 9 am to 12 pm or October 26th from 4 pm to 6 pm.
To help ease some of the burdens of the thousands of families in critical need, diaper donations will be distributed to the community through Cobb Douglas Public Health Teen Pregnancy Program, Communities in Schools of Georgia in Marietta/Cobb County, LiveSafe Resources, MUST Ministries, Ser Familia, Simple Needs GA, Sweetwater Mission, and the Center for Family Resources.
