HVAC tuneup rebate FAQs

What does HVAC stand for?

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

What is the Cobb EMC HVAC Tuneup program?

The HVAC Tuneup program provides members with a $50 discount off of the cost to tune up their HVAC system with a participating contractor. The HVAC Tuneup program is only offered in the spring.

The program is designed to encourage members to regularly tune up their HVAC system to save energy and money. Cobb EMC recommends an annual pre-season checkup by a qualified HVAC contractor. Maintaining a comfortable temperature in your home can account for as much as 50 percent of your household energy use. Improving the performance of your existing HVAC system will help you stay comfortable and save on your energy bill.

Beginning March 1, 2020, and while supplies last, Cobb EMC members can request a voucher worth $50 toward an HVAC tuneup. Tuneup appointments must be completed before July 1, 2020.

How does the program work?

Cobb EMC members can request a voucher valued at $50* to go toward the cost of an HVAC tuneup.

Step 1: Fill out the online HVAC tuneup request form.

Step 2: If vouchers are available, you will receive an email with instructions to submit your appointment information.

  • The email will come from Cobb EMC Marketing. Please check your junk/spam mailbox because emails are occasionally filtered by your email provider.
  • You will have two weeks from when you receive this initial email to submit your appointment form.

Step 3: Once you submit your appointment information with a participating contractor, you will receive an email with your voucher and tuneup checklist. When you are scheduling your appointment, please keep in mind that Cobb EMC will not process same day requests. Your appointment can be for any time before July 1, 2020.

Step 4: The qualified contractor will complete the work. The tuneup checklist must be signed by you and the contractor.

Step 5: The HVAC contractor will take $50 off the member's invoice. Members are responsible for the remaining balance of the services provided and the actual cost of the tuneup may be higher than $50.

When does the program begin/end?

The HVAC Tuneup rebate program begins March 1, 2020 and will run while supplies last. The program is only available in the spring.
