What does HVAC stand for?

HVAC stands for heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

What is the Cobb EMC HVAC Tuneup program?

The HVAC Tuneup program is designed to encourage our members to regularly tune up their HVAC system to save energy and money. Cobb EMC recommends an annual pre-season checkup by a qualified HVAC contractor. Maintaining a comfortable temperature in your home can account for as much as 50 percent of your household energy use. Improving the performance of your existing HVAC system will help you stay comfortable and save on your energy bill.

Beginning March 15, 2017, Cobb EMC members can request a voucher worth $50 toward an HVAC tuneup.

How does the program work?

Cobb EMC members can request a voucher valued at $50* to go toward the cost of an HVAC tuneup.

  • The member will fill out the online HVAC tuneup request form.
  • The member will be notified via email if the voucher is available. The email will come from marketing@cobbemc.com. Please check your junk/spam mailbox because emails are occasionally filtered by your email provider. A limited number of vouchers are available beginning March 15, 2017. Some exclusions may apply.
  • If the member is awarded a voucher, the member will then contact an approved HVAC contractor** to schedule their tuneup. Members should not schedule an appointment until they have been notified by the Cobb EMC marketing department that they will receive a voucher.
  • The member will fill out the form included on the verification email with the date of the tuneup appointment and the contractor's name.
  • The member should not schedule their tuneup for the same day they send the email (with appointment date and contractor's name) to the marketing department, because the process of issuing a voucher will take 24 to 48 business hours. Cobb EMC is unable to process same day requests.
  • Cobb EMC will email the $50 voucher and the tuneup checklist to the member and copy the contractor.
  • The HVAC contractor will complete the work, fill out the tuneup checklist, and take the voucher from the member.
  • The HVAC contractor and the member will sign the tuneup checklist after completion.
  • The HVAC contractor will take $50 off the member’s invoice.
  • The member is responsible for the remaining balance of the services provided.
  • The HVAC contractor will fax or mail the voucher, the tuneup checklist, and the invoice to Cobb EMC for reimbursement.

*Actual cost of the tuneup may be higher than $50.

**To be included in the approved contractor list, the contractor must provide proper license information and insurance coverage to Cobb EMC. Cobb EMC has all rights to remove contractors from the list in the event our members are dissatisfied with their work and provide formal, legitimate complaints to Cobb EMC. Cobb EMC does not endorse any of these contractors, nor have preference among them.
