We're committed to our community

Cobb EMC Community Foundation

Cobb EMC has been dedicated to improving the lives and communities which we’ve served since the beginning. Local nonprofits have been relying on us since 1938, and our employees and members continue to donate their time, money and talents to better the community.

We have several ways that both our employees and members can contribute and have seen great success in all.

Two ways that members can contribute specifically is through our Operation Round Up and Project Share programs. Through our Operation Round Up project, members have the opportunity to round up their electric bill and have the money donated to charitable organizations in the counties that we serve. In June 2018, we donated over $64,000 to organizations such as Center For Children & Young Adults, Carrigan Care, Make A Wish Georgia and many more thanks to this program.

Project Share is similar to Operation Round Up in that the money raised is distributed locally - to nonprofits in the county that the donation was received. Members can either make a $1, $2 or $5 donation every month through their electric bill or can make a one-time donation, and each donation will be distributed by the Salvation Army .

We also serve the community through school programs, scholarships and presentations. The Partners in Education Program allows us to partner with ALL the schools in our service district to host and attend special events, programs and activities throughout the year. Some of these events include career days, mentoring, literacy week and electric avenue safety demonstrations.

In addition to grade school children, we want to support those seeking higher education, which is why Cobb EMC offers three different scholarship programs. These include the Cobb EMC Community Foundation Scholarship, Walter Harrison Scholarship and Washington Youth Tour.
