Inside Cobb EMC's power control room

As soon as an outage happens, the power control room is alerted, at which point the team that oversees the control room can figure out how they should reroute power. A lot of outages can be solved from this room without ever sending out a crew.

There are cases in which an outage occurs and the control room isn’t able to reroute power and a crew must be sent out to fix the issue. Many of these outages are caused by downed trees which have knocked down a line.

However, if the control room can fix the issue, power can often be restored within 30 seconds to a minute.

The people in the control room are the first to know when your power goes out and are oftentimes able to address the issue immediately and get your power back on.
