Cobb EMC donates trees to Dowell Elementary for Earth Day

Cobb EMC, in partnership with Georgia 811, recently donated apple trees to Dowell Elementary to help students celebrate Earth Day and learn more about Safe Digging Month.

The apple trees will be an edible addition to the school’s student-tended garden, which includes other foods like cabbage and sweet potatoes.

Cobb EMC’s safety ambassador, Wattson, taught students how to dig safely alongside Digger Dog, the mascot for Georgia 811, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to preventing damage to Georgia’s underground utilities and promoting public safety.
